In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Oceania showed varied performance trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated interesting patterns in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $700 in mid-September. Weekly downloads began strong with over 42K in early July, but saw a gradual decline, reaching approximately 30K by the end of September. Despite this, weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 10M throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent weekly download pattern, starting at 34K and peaking at 59K in early August, before tapering to 29K by the end of the quarter. Its weekly active users showed a steady increase, reaching over 5.1M by late September.

Telegram reported a gradual increase in weekly revenue, peaking at $11K in late September. Weekly downloads started at 12K, peaking at 19K in late August, and then declining to 11K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained fairly stable, averaging around 330K.

Finally, Microsoft Edge: AI browser experienced modest weekly revenue fluctuations, with a peak of $59 in early July. Downloads showed an upward trend, reaching 13K in late August before slightly declining to 9K by the end of September. Active users increased steadily, peaking at 188K in the final week of the quarter.
